History

1881 – Factory for manufactoring of distillates was established by Mr. Edmund Wessely.

1954 – First serial production of gas (LPG) cylinders. The company name was changed first to Jihokov (1958) and then to Plynokov (1961).

1992 – Full privatization of the factory by the Agrotec concern who follows with production.  Cylinders, air-tanks and cookers for camping completed the whole production range of the daughter company called GASTEC.

1999 – Worthington Cylinders Corporation (USA) acquired 51% of Gastec shares and Carlos, s.r.o  acquired 49% of Gastec; thereby Worthington Gastec a.s. was founded.

2001 – Worthington Gastec a.s. was renamed to Worthington Cylinders a.s.

2006 – Worthington Cylinders Corporation acquired the remaining 49% of the factory shares from the Czech owners.
